Phil, do you have Jimi's - Blues at Midnight? It is a bootleg of some of Jimi's jams at Cafe au go go.

There is some real funky stuff on there (I stole the theme for the little jam from one of the jams on there, so if you want to hear how it SHOULD be done.. \:D ). It was never officially released though.

No I don't. I should search that out. I love 'Nine to the Universe'.

Looking forward to hearing the jam.
I could say be positive, if you weren`t talking about birthdays. Birthdays suck.
However if it`s your birthday, happy birthday.
Birthdays suck, with the exception of your birthday. Reasonable compromise, I think.

I'm thinking of getting into martial arts together with my son, when he is ready. I might try to find a class we can do together. I've never studied it, but I met a lot of martial artists when I was studying Cantonese.

Hi Phil
I think they wouldn`t be so bad, if chickens wore shoes or something. Do they make sandals for chickens?
Anyway keep in mind, `I want to do martial arts` is about the same as people who post here and say `I want to buy a guitar`. There`s a lot of choices and it`s good to narrow them down as much as possible.

Fair point. Some kind of Kung Fu, I have a friend who does Wing Chun and I know a teacher but I would need to explore the different types of Gung Fu and decide what suited.

And what`s available in your area. I have a sort of band going (don`t ask) with a drummer who is a Wing Chun teacher, his teacher is a family descendant of Bruce Lee`s original teacher Ip Man. I`ve done some introductory training in that style but it`s pretty much the exact opposite of my background.

Phil
I met these guys and their teacher briefly in Okinawa-I get regular updates from them, they seem well organized although they must know that it may be a while before they see me in the doorway:

Afternoon, Geoff!

Thanks Skip!
This is a friend of mine, we studied Cantonese together:
http://www.thewingchunschool.com/html/Gary.htm

We also volunteered together at a Chinese Community Centre Old People's Luncheon every week to learn the language for a while.

You learn very fast in the kitchen! And the old people teach you all the most salacious language! ;\)

The fool, I am, but it was the 31st... Actually I was overdue, so they were going to induce me April 1st... but my dear ol mum, in her youthful silliness decided she didn't want a baby on April Fools day.. and had them do it on the 31st lol.. I guess the hormones were getting to her :-)
