I love my C850! That is what "All up to you" was recorded with. Man they play nice. I have a CT6 on the way also. Which one are you playing?

I've re-recorded it again this morning, hopefully sweetening up the high end a bit while maintaining the warmth.

Sounds nicely balanced to me.

That's a nice theme - do you consider that a tune in need of a title, or just noodling?

It's pretty much a tune in need of a title by now.

Here is a link to an mp3 I posted over at guitaristworks. It's just basic tracks for the first tune were working on for our new album. Keys , vocals and some guitar solos need added. This mp3 is un-mastered. Thought I would get some feedback as to how I can make it any better.

I spent a good bit of time coming up with my own unique chunk sound that doesnt mimic anyone else's. I wanted todays power with a little old school grit thrown in. Hopefully I hit the mark.

Lee, I love this tune. Very Beatle-esque without being a rip off. I love the drum break at about 4:00.

Nice work Jim Soloway. I listened to it last week but I was in a rush. Nice tones. Cool that it is 7 string. I would love to dick around with a 7 string. Like that looming bass note.

Hard to tell without the lead elements like vocal and solos.

I hear early Sabbath (Master of Reality) type sound, with a more modern bridge section. Good tone. I want to hear the finished product.

Glad you liked it and yes, that's a 7-string with the added string tuned to a low A. I've been playing mostly 7-string for about 7 years now.

Back in '96 I was in a Rush tribute, and we recorded a couple of tunes on my VS880 (yuck ). I thought the tracks were gone forever, but my brother found a copy I gave him way back when.

My favorite song from this is Red Barchetta (mainly because I love the vocal performance by the keyboardist), and I've uploaded it HERE

Abacab is also still there, but the songs change frequently because I only have 15 megs of space.
Great job on the Rush tune

This is my tune. A version of Hideaway (F. King and S. Thompson), made famous by John Mayall and Clapton. Gt direct on PC, with amplitube. Check it out. Hope hear from you guys.

please click at http://www.tramavirtual.com.br/artista/trator , choose "raideauei" and go for streaming. Ah, and see a pic of my homestudio too.

Hey guys, this is a live video of our band a few weeks ago. Right now there is only 1 song but we'll be adding another one shortly. OK quality for a cam corder.

http://www.myspace.com/gifthorse

Also my band isn't Flagshipmile anymore.
This was our first show with the new line up. Sucks really, the bassist is a fabulous musician. He was teaching me chord harmony cuz he went to Berkely. Anyways, he is in rehab now for heroin.. We are playing an acoustic gig this weekend but it will only be me and zack. I am the guy on the left.

Looking for a badass bassist at least as good as this guy, who can sing too.

This is something new we just finished up. I have never had so many issues getting a song done before. We had software and hardware issues when trying to get this one done.

We finally ended up with this. Hope you guys like it.

flagshipmile good stuff! I enjoyed the song. The camera work was a little distracting ;\) with all the panning and zooming in and out, but the I liked the tune . Nice solo. What's that 12 string you're playing?

EmptinessOFYouth "Stoner Rock"?? \:D Very nice first recording! I thought the song could use vocals or some sort of melody line in the first half. I really liked what you do starting at around 3:36. Really nice solo at the end too! Good job!

Dazed Another good one from you! You really have a knack for writing good tunes!

thanks man i appreciate it. The first half to me isnt as exciting as it use to be, but that could be because of how many times ive heard it, i love the end though. On that solo thing, i did two takes with different pickup positions, when the drummer put it together he left both on by accident, and i couldnt belive how dead on they were so we left it, sounds kinda wierd i think tho. thanks again

EoY: Sorry, not my cup o' tea - hard to offer a thoughtful comment.

Dawnrazor: I listened to "So Close", "Ms. Louise" and "Don't Let Me Go". I liked the intro to So Close, and the bit at about 3:40 just before the final chorus. Songwise, I like the direction. The soloing on Ms. Louise I'm afraid was a little cliche. I felt the vocals were weak, with too much reverb. So Close was my favorite, definitely keep that one at the top of the page. Mixing in the acoustic with heavier elements was nice.

Dazed: Count me along with Paul as fans of your songwriting.

Thanks dude. Yeah this guy Zack knows just used a cam corder so we could see and hear what we need to improve on. I am playing a Taylor 355 12 string.

I am jacked though because I just got a Fishman Aura. It has a nice compressor, a tuner, it is footswitchable and you can blend and eq your pickup setting with the aura's imaging software. The result is pretty amazing. Sounds more natural than a pickup, and the compressor is nice. It also has separate patches for lead and you can boost up for solos. It also has a feedback eliminator. The tuner is nice too.

Sorry for the OT fishman lecture.. my only complaint about it is that the buttons to go up and down the patches are too close together.

I didn't use the Fishman at the gig on the video, that was just direct through the board.
