I wanted to add that I am jacked as hell about opening for Darren Mcarty's band Grinder in the beginning of April. If you don't know him, he is a right winger on the Red Wings. Total Badass. Anyways, my drummer is friends with him so I am sure I will have a beer with him or something. I am hoping alot of other Red Wings will show up too.

I would love to have someone call me when I am having a beer with Steve Yzerman or something.

Hey Millo. I'm floored by your technique. Fantastic!! When I started playing guitar I wanted to be exactly what you are. I think every guitar player has to respect the dedication it takes to play that way. Your bio is very impressive indeed. Play on man. I hope you stick around.

thanks to everyone for your positive comments....

since I'm on dial-up, I've only listened to a couple of your clips.... I've got the flu so it seems I won't be able to go to work this evening, so I can slowly download more

pauldil: LOVED your tone, and tasty licks! What guitar are you using? I'm assuming you were plugged to the computer through some direct box or preamp or something.... sounds very nice.

funkjazz: your Irish tune is gorgeous! very nice tone, and definitely sounds like it's very true to the tradition (like I know anything about Irish music)

Chris: had lots of fun w/ MAry HAd a Little Lamb...
definitely the RIGHT tone for that! nice...

and know I'll see if I can listen to a few more...

MILLO - Beautiful playing!

If I can make one suggestion? Get rid of Geocities and get your own website! I had trouble getting your site pulled up.

Excellent music on there and exceptional playing.

Steve nice style. I know you must get the comparison a lot, what piano player doesn't? You have a sound like Billy Joel. That is a great compliment though in my book! Stranger sounded great.

10th Avenue (formerly known as Bad Blues) has some new demo songs up on the website.

this is only a rough mix, final mix will be done when the studio monitors arrive - any tips on how to improve the mix are welcome!

recording was done with electronic drums - so we can't "turn up the snare", it's all or nothing, but since we are NOT recording engineers we opted for this, instead of trying to mic a drumset and then hoping we can mix 6 (?) channels of drums down to acceptable sound...
bass, rhythm guitar, solo guitar, sax and vocals each have their own track

Nice stuff, Dazed, love the vocal sound...the keyboard works really well too. Sounds like some of the hipper stuff that came out on AM radio in the early 70s...sort of in that old "Ride Captain, Ride" vibe...

Thanks for listening Tedster. My partner gets credit for this one. I just wrote the lyrics and did the vocals. I think he captured a completely different feel/sound for us. Change is always good \:\) Thanks for listening and the feedback.

Dazed: I like that tune a lot. The lyric sounds like a nice way to wrap up a live show. (Two thumbs up!)

The guitar solo is cool too.

Billster much appreciated! It's funny I posted this on one other forum I frequent and had basically zero responses. I thought it was a good tune lol. So everyone who has listened and posted thank you very much. It means a lot.

Dazed,

I really enjoyed "Dreaming". The organ sound fit the song really well. As everyone else mentioned, the vocals are great. I liked the way the guitar solo starts and really loved the tone you got. Good job once again!

Here are some rough mixes from a casual recording session at my house yesterday. i would recommend downloading them, 'cuz dmusic's streams suck:

Bossa Dorado is a contemporary gypsy jazz standard, this is played by a trio version of our regular hot club. i take the first lead, rich daigle takes the second, followed by ben johnson on bass.

Vipers Dream same trio as Bossa Dorado. this is a really cool little blues tune, but with a Django twist. i take the first solo, then rich, then ben.

Daphne is a gypsy jazz standard from django's hot club. i go first, followed by stu maxfield on fiddle, then rich daigle on guitar, then ben johnson on bass.

Dimonic Blues was written by rich daigle, and gets a little outside. same order of soloists as 'Daphne'.

enjoy

if the links don't work, try following the one in my signature.

All four tunes are excellent! I especially liked "Viper's Dream". All were really well done, extremely melodic and very enjoyable. I could listen to this stuff all day! Thanks for posting them.
