\:\( Broke my string while playing this..
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/songInfo.cfm?bandID=686884&songID=5897719

And I turned my amp too high so the quality is blech..

Oh well, you guys should check out Newgrounds Audio portal for some nice back ground tracks. This song used a jazz song.

edit: Redid the song with a new string.. sound quality should be much better.

Thanks Neil. Here's a link to the track. (It's also in the sticky 'Theory Thread with backing tracks' thread)

Hi Hovak,

You need to have a place to host your audio file (.mp3, .wav, etc) If you don't have a place, I've used http://www.putfile.com or http://www.soundclick.com to host some of my stuff (they're both free). Then you can just add the url that points to your file in your post.

Hope that helps.

Me again, posting some very lower end intermediate playing, and I only started singing this year so please bear with me!!

I tried tackling both guitar parts on this Hubert Sumlin fav....

http://media.putfile.com/Killing-Floor-86

And tons of mistakes here, but I love this song!

http://media.putfile.com/Crossroads-53

...and tackling some fingerpicking here, my version of LIghtning Hopkin's version.....

Okay I'm finally posting a song

http://imusicscene.com/Rob_Robitaille/

Go down to the bottom right part of the page and there's a player. Right now I only have the one song in there.

The guitar parts are more distorted than I want them to be and I'm going to remix the song soon and take the levels down quite a bit because I think the distortion is coming from the tracks being a little hot.

Thanks for listening

Nice interpretation Paul. That thumb thing cracks me up! Any reason why you don't use a pick?

Thanks Bruce! I use a pick more often than not, but I like the feeling of playing with my thumb - seems to feel more personal. I also like the tone I get. And because it limts my technique significantly (for example I can't do upstrokes), it forces me to pay closer attention to what I play and I tend to phrase differently.

Thanks!

Paul

Ok I see what you are saying. I am the same way. I mean I play more dynamic when I play lead with my fingers. I have never really tried to record it tho. But I know what you mean about playing within those confines and pulling out something different.

Sometimes when I drop a pick at practice or live I do that.
