I am looking for composing software that has the ability to write the picture chord grids that appear above the staff in sheet music. (Needs to be Mac OS friendly). I bought some software a few years ago that alledgedly did this but got burned, it just had a library that you could select from and enter where desired. I want to be able to write the particular inversions that I choose or create for a given song.(so my failing brain can remember them later). I would think that someone if not everyone has this feature by now. The simpler the program the better.I'm not writing symphonies here! Haven't gone to Guitar Center yet cause if you can get one of the sharks to talk to you they'll say yes to anything to get you to buy it. (based on the aforementioned experience). Thought I would check here first where the knowledgeable people are!

I don't know the answer but I've wished for the same thing, too. Although, at this time, I am PC-based, not Mac. Anyone?

Don't know if it will fit your needs but go over to http://www.myriad-online.com and download the demo of Melody Assistant.

Great cheap notation package, lots of features, Mac and PC versions and only $18.

I used it to write the CD I'm currently working on and it's very versitile.

I was just talking to a coworker at Gibson about the same need. He suggested checking out Tabledit.com

It supports the custom chord diagram edit, but I don't know if there is a Mac version. Check it out!
