I just read that Chris Cornell has officially joined the remaining members of Rage Against the Machine to form a new band.

Thoughts?

I think it's all going to come down to how well they can keep the ego's in check. On paper... it's a new "supergroup"... but can they jell as a group?

No matter what... the first cd gonna hit big!

I hope Cornell brings more of a rock vibe into RATM. I think that would be really cool. I'm looking forward to hearing what they turn out.

My concern is whether they can actually write SONGS. Cornell proved that he could, but the guys in rage have just been basically jamming over pentatonic riffs for the past decade while de la rocha raps. It'll be interesting to see what they can do with a melody, chord progression, song form, and all of that. I hope their creativity goes with them into this style change.

Hey, wait a second.. isn't this old news? I posted something about this a few months ago.....? Is this being hyped again suddenly on MTV or something?

Could be cool; the guys in RATM know where they stand relative to Cornell I think, shouldn't be to much of an ego battle.... They know their roots are from Soundgarden, it should work well.

I had heard that they were jamming a while back, but this was the first I'd heard that they were actually forming a band complete with an album.

I'd be exited if it WAS being hyped on MTV.

Well, what is the origin of this info, that they're making a record?

I heard that Brooke Shields has decided to sing on an album with Dimebag Darrell. They're taking the first part of Dimebag's band's name with Brooke's last name and calling it "Pante-Shields".
