Call me a dummy (hey, it beats "Ishmael"!) but I can't figure/find out what some of the message icons (not the smilies) are representative of..."?/question" is obvious but what, for example, are the "hands", etc.
Is there a menu somewhere ?

Do you mean the "thumbs up" or "thumbs down"?
I'm not sure but my guess is they mean you "like the subject topic" or you "don't like the subject topic".
As far as I know, there's no "rules" for the use of these... Feel free to use them as you see fit!
