If so, when you go digital to the 880 do you set it for 44.1khz or 48khz? The owners manual for the Stomp says it's sample rate is 48khz but none of my 880s will record the Stomp's digital outs at anything but 44.1

Also the speed and pitch of any already recorded tracks goes up!?!?

Anyone else around here with a Stomp and an 880 have this experience?

Very strange!

A) If you get the sample rate wrong it will sound fizzy.

B) The 880 is trying to lock to the DG's signal. You need to change the VS to "internal sync" I believe (uhm.... under the "system" button I believe).

C) Worse comes to worse initialize a new song with a 48k rate and see what happens...

Although unlikely, the DG could have a different sample rate going in than out. It would be odd for them to choose 48k, but who knows...

Ironically, when the POD Pro came out, the buzz focused on how recording digitally was going to be so great... But... Time after time, on the Line6 forum people reported better sounding results with the analog outputs.

I don't know if you've experimented with the analog outputs of the DG Stomp, but it might be worth a try...

I normally use my POD (the original one) to fatten up stuff, and I have never had any probs with it. I just put some stuff down at the studio last night using it. The beds were made with a little Pro Jr cranked up about three quarters.....it's a little fire breathing demon. Don't know much about the Roland stuff. I'd say use the analog outs.....gotta sound better. Either that or crank an amp, put a 57 up close and wail away......problem solved.
