Hi,
I'd like to start recording, but I'm not sure of what I'd need as a beginner. I'd like a fairly easy to us recording program, and some simple equipment to get my guitar into my PC. I was looking at the Yamaha MagicStomp pedal, and it looks pretty good for the price. Or also, something cheaper, the M-Audio JamLab USB guitar hook-up. I'm thinking that I should get a little USB keyboard, too, for drums/bass, and also so that I can learn how to play; being that whenever I've had the chance to play a piano, I've seemed to pick it up quite quickly and have never had anything of my own to practice on.
So basically, I just need to know what the best recording software would be for a beginner, and what equipment would be best (price-wise, etc.).
Thanks for any advice that you're able to share.

What musical equipment do you have now? If you can list it, I (and others) can make recommendations that don't overlap what you have.
You need to pin down a budget, though, or it's going to be all over the map.

Thanks for the replies.
Right now, I just have a little practice amp and a fender stratocaster. I used to have some decent equipment to play on with my brothers stuff, but he moved, so.. Anyways, my budget isn't much right now. I was hoping to start off with just something to get my guitar into my computer, and then the program in which I'd be able to record with.
I have zero experience with recording programs, and I haven't read up on much about them, but I was hoping that I'd actually be able to put some drum/bass behind my guitar. Is it easy to do, or am I going to have to get some "for dummies" books on how they work?
Thanks again for the replies, being that this forum doesn't seem that active at the moment.
