I've had this drive in my rig for years and just got around to using it. I backed up any entire volume, but when the unit did a comparison check, it found something like 1035 errors.

What does this mean? And can I safely format the volume and expect to be able to get the tape backup files back?

I'm using Retrospect 6.0.026

If the data has any value, go buy a new hard drive and restore it to that, so you don't lose anything by formatting the volume. No guarantees in the 'backup' business...

That's a good idea. I do have an extra bay in my PCI expansion chassis.
