I recently picked up a couple of vintage mic pre modules from an old console, and I want to get them racked up. 2 of them aught to fit in a 2U space, leaving plenty of room for the power supply, volume controls, and gozintas and comzoutas.

My usual guy for this kind of work is tied up until Jan, and I'd like to get these done before then, if possible. Can anyone recommend a good guy to do this kind of work?

Bill,

You didn't mention whether they'll be moving(Anvil-type case) or permanently installed. If you know exactly how many rack spaces you need and the cabinet depth, you can order the rails, handles, etc. This place can supply all the harware you'll ever need.

Any length rails can be had from:

What I do when pressed for time is call a local cabinet/furnature maker. As long as you know what you need, they should be able to quickly slap together a decent looking box. Also, you didn't mention what section of the country you're from. This company did a great job for me on a B3 fall(if a particular look is a concern). Near Phili.

Paul,

I'm talking about taking an old console module (mic input section, sans fader) and putting it into a chassis with a power supply, I/O connectors, pad, volume, instrument DI, phantom, phase reverse switch, and like that. So that it can be put in standard racks.
