How difficult is it? Are they snap-in connectors, or is soldering involved? Any info would be appreciated.

Shouldn't be hard at all. If the 1032A is the updated version of the 1030A, why not just lay it on it's back, unscrew the woofer, and take a peek. Handle only by the frame, and don't touch the cone.
