Hi, I*m a bass player from Sweden. New to this forum, but have spent some time in LowDown.

Could use some help about recording hardware. Would like to set-up a project studio at home to record drums. Have read a lot about the Presonus Firepod which seems to fit my needs perfectly, but would like to hear your opinion about this machine. Are there any other similar HW's I should review? Is it maybe better to go for a PCI-solution instead of a Firewire-based solution.

Thanks in advance.

PCI is better than Firewire.

Look into RME solutions.
