Assuming quality coax wire and clean connectors, what is the maximum run-length for unbalanced digital (S/PDIF) wires, or the maximum length others have gotten away with? I can't seem to find a definative answer anywhere. Anyone?
Thanks, Paul

Assuming the 50 Ohm rating is per 1,000 feet... 100 feet would introduce a 5 Ohm load. But, capacitance usually causes singal degradation or distortion. My guess is 50 feet is tops without assistance.

Thanks for the quick get-back and the info. I've set up unbalanced(RCA) digital ins/outs, through patch bays, from different modules. The longest total run is about 25'. No problems yet, but for-warned is.. well you know. I've run into wire length problems with FireWire connections before, and thought I'd ask about digital. Paul
