Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here would be able to help. I have to complete a report on surround sound in the next few days and one of the areas I am to cover is near to market developments in surround sound.

I wondered if anyone here may be able to tell me what the next probable advances in surround sound will be?

I'm just looking for some terminologies that I can research myself or, ideally, links to some information on-line.

Any help you can provide would be welcome.

Just the hope that it survives long enough for those young people that now listen to ipod music will one day want quality sound. That by far will be the biggest advance to the format.
Google should be able to point you to many sources.
Good Luck,
blas

It's almost impossible to say where things are going from here.
I hope it isn't backwards though, but given that HD broadcasting is going to be using LCRS type Lt/Rt streams instead of discrete - you might want to consider looking into the differences, Pros & Cons of Discrete over Matrix.

There is a paper there .....
