They are showing the movie The Honeydripper with Danny Glover as Pinetop Perkins, the famous blues piano player and features Gary Clark, Jr., who is the featured artist in this month's GP. A good movie about a failing juke joint in the 1940-50's south. G. Clark, Jr. Plays the young guitar player who saves the joint from the antagonists who want to take ownership of the struggling bar.

G. Clark's playing is appropriately sloppy with a lot of grease under it (I can remember my teacher, Jerry Ricks yelling at me that "You play too white! It's too clean! You gotta' put some grease under it!").

I liked it and recommend the film highly. thu

I saw this movie, Fred. It IS pretty good. Takes a while to get around to anything musical, but storywise it keeps you there.

Hey Whitefang,

Yeah, I agree. There was very little music.

RE: "greaseless" You're a singer songwriter type aren't you? If so, You want that "clean as country water"* sound, don't you?
