New Vox ToneLab Amp Modeler vs PODxt

Recommended Posts

Check out: Probably not as versitile as the PODxt, but I was pretty impressed by the Vox Valvetronix amps. The only thing which bugged me about the amps was the lack of a MIDI interface. I didn't like the Vox pedal controller. Granted, it is not as versitile as some of the other table-top / recording POD like devices out their, but it seems to have just the right effects and sounds, and unlike the combo amps, it can be used live with speaker emulation turned off, and controlled with a MIDI controller. It will come in a tabletop and a floor board version. I think the tabletop price should be around $400. I'm still looking forward to trying one out - it appears that you could use it live with a MIDI controller. To get more info check out Voxtalks Pete

I also like the Vox Valvetronics but the line output really sucked compared with the competition. Therefore I am really interested in the ToneLab to see if they fixed that to any degree of success. Vox is bringing out a new bigger controller called the VC-12 (if my memory serves me correctly). BOSS will be showing their GS-10 at NAMM to compete with these recording products. Cheers, Mats N
