ksoper
Hmm...I never posted on that last thread. But here goes-- I used to stand. I stood from 1978 until 2000. A blues guy I began working with thought that a standing keyboard player looked too much like The Archies. So I sat. And, lo and behold, my playing got better and that annoying sciatic nerve problem I was having in my left (weight-bearing) leg disappeared. The ticket buyers aren't coming to the show to see me, anyway. k. 9 Moog things, 3 Roland things, 2 Hammond things and a computer with stuff on it

coyote
LOL! Sounds like an (ahem) equipment problem to me. If you're using a single small synth then it WILL look kinda bubblegum. However, I don't think anyone *ever* confused Jon Lord or Keith Emerson, playing their Hammond C3s, with the Archies - which proves that the size of your organ really DOES matter! Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist. This ain't no track meet; this is football. Play one or two keyboards sit; play 6 or more stand! On the other hand... how many Hammond players have you seen playing a full set of pedals while standing? Michael Q:What do you call a truck with nothing in the bed, nothing on the hitch, and room for more than three people in the cab? A:"A car".... eric
I only play live gigs standing up. Sitting down was never comfortable to me, except in those piano recital settings many, many years ago. http://www.phatalbert.com/images/bios/eric5.jpg Regards,Eric
