This maybe a dumb question.When recording a band in the studio of course the drums sound great.Although when I record or overdub vocals or other instruments.The drums resonate.The drums are in the same room.I have tried putting heavy blankets over them.That didnt work.I had thought about drum mutes,but not sure what to do.I could have them sing or overdub in a different room.But thats not always the best solution.Any ideas? Thanks

heavy blankets over them and the cymbals should of done the job..

Two things I do...

Using Gaffers tape...I tape a 2" x 2" square of foam to each top and bottom head.

I also have a thick-cotton winter bed sheet that I throw over the whole kit to kill the cymbals...
...though you can also remove them, or try the foam squares...but the sheet it quick.

The Gaffers tape makes removal easy, without any goo...unless you leave it taped on for days.
