Any and all of the korg products since the M1 have had pretty good pads . Lots of new age artist use korg . Experiment with multi keyboards for pads as well you'll be surprised what comes out of different combinations .

Maybe you should clarify what you mean by "getting" the best pads. If you intend to buy an instrument, I would recommend a Korg Wavestation (I can witness - I own two), or a Kawai K5000S, or maybe a Yamaha FS1r. They all have wonderful pads. However, any decent workstation or VA synth of today can produce excellent pads, especially with a bit of programming and layering of sounds.

Jonniepain is right in saying that Korg synths always had good pads, even before the M1: the DW8000 etc.

If you happen to own a Kurzweil with a little sample RAM, there's a very good sample CD-ROM called "Best of Korg" in Kurz format, with hundreds of pads and much more. Check it out at www.pyramidsounds.com
