Markbass F1
4 band EQ
VLE + VPF filters
Effects loop
Balanced out
One rack space
a little over 4 pounds
500 watts (I presume into 4 ohms)

They have a bunch of other really well thought out tube amps and teeny combos coming out. I think with GC as their distributor, they are really trying to make a play in all price points.

More to come...anyone else, please feel free to add.

Markbass stuff is really nice...I've played a few of their things here in stores...but unfortunately over here, it's pretty expensive.

Just FYI: The LMKII has a digital power supply and an analog output stage, the F1 is a Class D amp with the same digital power supply, according to Peter Murray.

X2 wireless.

The next invention by the creator of the X-Wire.

I couldn't hear the difference between the wireless and a cable and it doesn't make any noise when you turn the transmitter on or off.

I've been debating going wireless again. If it has Jeremy's approval, I may have to take a look. I've read other places as well that it is a pretty nice unit. $350 isn't too bad...although that buys a lot of cables.

That also buys 3/4 of a decent replacement head.

Not as much fun, but just sayin...

Yep. I doubt I'll go wireless. I just hate getting all tangled up sometimes.

If the Roland does what I need it to, there won't even need to be a replacement head...and $350 can go to even better things, like debt reduction, or some stuff for Grace.

That is pure sexy. Next paycheck from the band might be buying me one of those. Or I'll ebay my X-wire and buy one of those + something else with the profits. \:\)

Jeremy called me yesterday from NAMM and mentioned that EA has an amp head that put out a couple hundred watts and was TWO pounds.

It's actually 2.2 pounds. 300 watts at 4 ohms and 400 watts at 2 ohms (yes, it is 2 ohm stable). The footprint is 1/2 the size of a sheet of paper. It got huge response. I cannot begin to tell you all the working pros that want one.

Magnesium might be interesting.

Used is professional cameras for years... but cameras do not get as hot as amps... magnesium has a tendancy to catch fire, if I recall correctly.

Coolest things I saw (and to be fair there wasn't THAT much which really rocked my cage...):
The X2 Wireless ( On JC's recommendation I did check it out...makes me seriously consider going wireless!)

Chandler Ltd. Germanium Mic pre and Germanium EQ (a cross 'tween vintage Pultec and modern eq...ultra cool!)..Oh, while I am at it the Chandler TG1 Compressor, The Curve Bender EQ, the Abbey Road Editions and all the Abbey Road Plugins (now there are some seriously cool pieces of software!) Of all the crap at NAMM, the Chandler stuff impressed me the most. Now I gotta convince the wife to let me re-finance the house so I can get them!!

Rick Turner Model 1 fretless bass (suh-weeeet!)

Looperlative

That 1kg EA amp....Mike I NEED one of those!!

The Eventide Delay and Modulation pedals

But......

...the single coolest thing was certainly hanging out with Jeremy Cohen.

..how's that TV commercial go? "priceless".

The shavings catch fire pretty easily. They make excellent firestarter. It's a little harder to burn in thicker quantities, but it is very possible. And, boy, what a pretty fire. Bluish-white and very hot.

Yep, it sure does. Honda used to make the engine cases of their Grand Prix bikes out of it back in the 60's. It was super light and all was good until they started catching on fire from grinding the cases on the tarmac while leaned way over.
