I love YouTube. Probably because I was MTV-deprived as a child.

The Who on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour

This made be want to try and become a bass player.

wow, really loved D'Angelo.. the band sounded so good- was that Eric Clapton on guitar? and it was sad to see and hear the great, great, late Don Alias on percussion, God keep you, Don. Grooving things up in Heaven

Is that Tetsuo as in the Japanese movies? I love Tetsuo II, it's like a totally different version of reality.

Sounds best on "real" speakers, not your standard small pc scuzz. (Like I have here at work)
Enjoy!

Meshell Ndegeocello is an amazing player, she needs to get more credit for what she brings to the bass world.

Uriah Heep\'s July Morning is one of my fave live renditions because Trevor Bolder totally rules that song. In my ever so 'umble opinion.

[Disclaimer] This version recorded in the'80s ... Also, there are clips out there with a better bass solo than the one he plays here, but I haven't found them on YouTube \:\(

His name is Jon Evans and I've been an admirer of his since seeing that footage when it was broadcast. I saw Tori a few years back and she didn't have a guitarist with her that night - Jon filled in all the gaps with such style.

That link is for the bottom section, not the Canadian author Jon Evans. \:\)

Silly Drummer Skills

NOT a favorite bass clip, but it is entertaining and if you watch till the end you'll see the drummer pull off something pretty amazing.
