I don't listen to monk. sorry. But the I thought that the whole thing with being original was to be different. And what kinda of --------------- thinks he gets to "clean up" a famous and respected musicians music. And dissonence is cool. reznor's "Hurt" would not have nearly as mush power if theat note wasn't sour. Damn I'm a poet....

Davio, that got me too. It has to be contrived. I have a hard time believing all of this is serious. Monk is one of my favorite artists. When it comes to tension and release and resolution, he got it more than any other artist. I love dissonance in music; I love Soul Coughing and older Rollins Band and Violent Femmes. The ugly makes you appreciate the beautiful. Makes me happy. As a side note, if you ever need to do a rock guitar solo and you hit a complete clam, just play that same note another 3 times, and it sounds like you did it on purpose.
