Saw Rising Low yesterday for the first time. Fantasic. I don't like Phish that much but I liked how Mike presented and developed the film. The aura thing was a little goofy but it was really cool to see so many different bass players and hear different pov's re: bass, Allen Woody, and why...

I saw Allen Woody on many different occasions. He gradually became one of my favorites. A friend of mine sat with him on a plane back from the west coast shortly before he died. Nothing but compliments about the man. Great approach to bass and music.

I'm sure there was a thread on this a while back, but if you haven't seen it it is worth it.

I am actually surprised at how often IFC has been running this lately. I was a little late to work one day recently as the vid was on at 7am.
Definitely a must-see.

And yes, there have been other threads on this.

Peace,

wraub

Just saw it for the first time on Sat nite.
The aura thing was definetly goofy but the rest of the film was very good...
I enjoyed the story that Warren Haynes told when Allen auditioned and was accepted into the band..

What was the official cause of his death anyway?

Rock n Rollers disease.

I don't know if he OD'd but I heard he may have had a heart problem.
