WFTurner
hehe... I remember about driving my Aunt crazy with that song in the summer of "68". My cousin had a bass and a drummer friend and we got together and jammed on it everyday in my cousins basement. I can't count the times we heard the phrase... "when are you boys gonna learn another damn song?" What a fond memory.... in what was then seeming like a the worst of times and events .... and now here we are again.... not hardly able to understand and comprehend our time and events. ------------------ William F. Jonathan Hughes
When someone attempted to ban "Louie Louie" because it was "obscene," the judge inthe case, after listening to it oever and over ruled that it was "indecipherable at any speed." miroslav
If you really want/need the lyrics...I can dig them up. I use to sing that song in a cover band...a long, long time ago...in a galaxy far, far away... miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important." -
Originally posted by Dave Bryce: I smell the rose in her hair
Ummm... *This* is the lyric that was controversial. IMO, the Kingsmen do NOT sound like they were singing these particular words... Go dig up a recording of the Kingsmen's version of "Louie Louie" and try to figure out exactly what they sang on this part... It would make Prince proud... -
Too funny!!! I think I always heard the "correct" lyrics except for that part about "I smell the rose in her hair"... One of those interpretations said pretty much what I think the Kingsmen are saying. Of course, I still insist that in the Doobie Brothers song "Real Love", Michael McDonald is singing "You finally walk through a toolshed", so perhaps I need to break out the Debrox... I guess not. Things don't change do they. IMDB Credit list President George Washington: "The government of the United States is in no sense founded on the Christian Religion."
