I have always noticed that when recording two things hapen quite often and I was wondering if anyone had any ide why.

First, the very beginning initial attack always peaks higher than notes that come after the first.

Secolnd, If I am recording an oboe for example up the scale some notes are picked up predominitably in the left channel while other in the right.

Very strange.... My signal flow is DPA 4006's to Avalon VT737 to RME ADI8-DS.

Any clue???

That could be your room talking back at you. Because of the shape of the room, certain frequencies on the left are accentuated and louder, and the same for certain other frequencies on the right side.
