Does anyone have any experience with the Avatar Cabs? I am thinking about them instead of spending a shitload on a 'namebrand' cab. I'm looking at a pair of 2X12 cabs. Any help WILL help!!!!!!!!

Avatar is good stuff, but you don't have to take my word for it. I own one, but there are plenty of positive reviews on various cabs at harmony-central.com and the most important review IMHO you can find at the website avatarspeakers.com where you can see the BassPlayer magazine review of the 2x10 cab. They gave it nearly the highest marks a cab can get, and said that it was a great sound and unmatched value. They gave it the Editor's Choice Best Buy award as well. If their 4x10s are any indication (which I own), then I would have to agree. Dave, the owner/operator is personable, willing to help, and does the best customer service I have yet to experience....EVER. One of the speakers went bad in my cab, and it was Eminence's fault (which they don't do very often AT ALL) and with one email he had apologize profusely and sent me out a replacement that day, and is quick to do whatever he can to please his customers. I couldn't say enough good things about that cab or the company.

Go for it. You won't regret it.

<----- I did. And I don't. A 2x10 for my Acoustic 320W amp and a 1x15 for my Carvin/Avatar rig are on the plate now... but not for a while... $$$ you know.

I would just like to reiterate how happy I am with my Avatar cab... I never thought I'd get used to a lil 2x10 thing after playing through nothing but a behemoth Hartke 2x15XL cab for almost a decade... but the little Avatar baby has got some serious low end... I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a inexpensive alternative to the big name cab makers...

Now, I just need some more gigs...
