ikestr
Where is the single 4x10? That would be my vote. ikestr ...hertz down low....
Pernax
I voted for 8x10, even though my rig is in reality 2x 4x10. And I went for this configuration mainly because it was made available to me at a very affordable price, and of course after consulting the good people who frequent this forum. As the cabs (SWR Goliath IIIs) perform quite nicely across the frequency spectrum (IMHO) and offer quite a lot of punch, having two of them makes it possible to achieve as much stage volume as I'll ever be needing when paired with a powerfull enough amplifier. -Pernax (up to 200 characters) You may use UBBCode in your signature. hags2k
Yeah, I missed the single 4x10 too. So far, mine has proved to be great for medium gigs (and almost too much but still manageable for small ones) and big gigs...well, it's a great way to monitor onstage, I found, while the PA does the grunt work there. I used to think huge rigs were the way forward, but now I think it'll be a while before I'm decided on that issue. unkownroadband.com - step into the unkown :-)
JD_dup2
Some of us actually use cabs with only one speaker. I use a 1x12 almost exclusively.
_Sweet Willie_
Where's the 2x12? Or the 2x10 exclusively? Or the multidriver cabs like the SWR Triad 1x15, 1x10, horn? Or the Bergie 322 -- 1x12, 2x10, horn? I think one nice combination is the 1x12, 1x18. Currently I find the AccuGroove rig of the 1x15, 1x12, 1x6, two tweeters + the 1x21 quite GASalicious! Tough poll to set up...there are so many different speaker configurations. Peace. spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. Messiaen knew how to parlay the funk. Mr. Phil
I say bigger the better i picked the 4x10/1x18 even though my rig is a 2x10/1x15 http://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/blue.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/black.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/fuscia.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/grey.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/orange.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/purple.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/red.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/yellow.JPG
prophetgtree
I would say a single 4x10 (right now I have a 1x15 combo). And, if I ever neded the volume I would add on a 2x12. I'm thinking both Avatar. Oh man, just thinking about that gives me a bad case of GAS! www.geocities.com/nk_bass/enter.html Still working on it...
