Great Egret Closeup

Recommended Posts

Great Egret Closeup in the Everglades National Park. Probably either the Anhinga Trail or Eco Pond. Sadly, since then a hurricane took out Eco Pond as it was a great wildlife attractor.

This was a slide I took with my Canon EOS film camera. It was a PITA to clean up and get the film grain out of it, but I learned a lot by doing that.

The slide was in poor shape with a lot of pieces of crap that I couldn't get off, but the tools in Elements did the trick after I learned how to use them.

Nice image, freaky critter.

This may sound odd but I'd go dollars to donuts (vintage donuts, back when they were cheap!) that a major consideration made by Adobe when they added this to their catalog is that drop of water at the end of the egret's beak. That really draws my eye, somebody may come up with an advertising slogan that fits and there you go.

It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.

Out of the half dozen or so shots I took of this critter, I liked the one with the water drop the best.

It was fishing and I hoped to catch it with a fish in its bill. But it missed the fish, scared the school away, and flew to another spot, not as photogenic. After sorting through the slides and picking this one, I remember the incident. The more I think about it, the more I'm sure it was on the Anhinga trail.

Getting the embedded specs of dust off and removing the grain was a learning experience.
