johnchop
https://www.gearnews.com/native-instruments-izotope-join-forces/ Don't know what this collab could mean. Izotope's mastering tools and reverb (from Exponential Audio) portfolio + NI's ...everything? How do you all read this? Quote I make software noises. Doerfler
It means that the investment capital firms that are running things for the last few years are calling the shots, and the software/hardware companies have to figure out how to move forward. Tusker
How do you all read this? Two interesting companies are hooking up. They both have excellent DSP algorithms, although I suspect that Izotope gets more revenue per line of code (based on the pricing of their high-end products) It could be positive for musicians, in the sense that Izotope "producer tools" get into NI instruments. One of those could become a cash cow in the DJ market that NI is serving. Or it could be negative in that a number of less profitable but still desirable products get shelved on both sides, frustrating those who have come to depend on those products. There could also be new markets with streaming entertainment and edutainment which they can attack together.
