Baggypants
Yes, and it's a serious topic that shouldn't be taken lightly https://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2010/dec/17/musicians-depression If you are reading this and suffer from depression, you are not alone. Seek help. Life doesn't have to be this way.
BRW
Don"t know, but whenever I see (saw...) Jim Beard with Donald Fagen or Steely Dan, he always looked -super- miserable up there. Like, cheer up, dude - you"re in Steely Dan!!
re Pete
Cause you can only do one thing at a time. A complex board is great, but time spent learning it's in and outs means time you're not spending on learning say repertoire.

Mighty Motif Max
Are unhappy keyboards people players? In all seriousness, it isn't limited to keyboardists. Like that article posted, many artistic people have higher rates of depression. Why, we do not know. drawback
I've always thought that inherently unhappy people wind up as drummers. Bash away your inner shit, and all that. But then again, there was "Keith the knife" and I have no idea if he was a happy guy or not. So I dunno. Quote ____________________________________ Rod Here for the gear. Biggles
This ex-guitarist nw keyboardist is unhappy. Sound wise there are hundreds of guitar permutations out there. Yet all Korg wants to do is produce Synths, 21 of the things on their website. Three refreshed or new at NAMM 2021 yet their old PA4X plods on despite Yamaha releasing four new models in the past couple of years. Get your fingers our Korg and give us what we want a PA5X. David Emm
Playing keys makes ME feel better, so it may also have a chance with a few others. Its seductive, positively addictive (as long as you don't hose your budget being a Packrat) and hands occupied with a Prophet-6 aren't aiming a knock-off Glock at my pink & tenders. Beautiful fifths beat pleading the Fifth. Quote "I like that rapper with the bullet in his nose!" "Yeah, Bulletnose!
