So, huge shoutout to Tom Cusimano and Eric Davis @ Korg.

They sent me the Triton VI (and the Arp Oddessey which is way cool), and I was able to jump right into the ballpark I've been after in no time. Unlike everything else I tried, it was nothing to assign Pitch Wheel (Joystick in Tritonese) to both pitch bend and filter cutoff and set the depth to my liking (so the bending up from below pitch goes from just a little darker to normal).

I've been very lucky to have Korg on my side for close to 40 years!

 Funny coincidence, Eric and I went to high school together, we graduated the same year and all that. He was a keyboard player back then but I had not started yet. It's funny seeing him know some of the same people as I have met much later.

To add to this, I really wish I had been introduced to U-he Diva sooner. I feel like I'm coming to the end of my SoftSynth deep diving. I'm moving back to a bit of hardware for vintage stuff, and only using VIs for modern and complex things. But about 9 months ago I got Diva and it's blowing me away... it just sounds GOOOOD. I don't even know why. It's not everything & the kitchen sink, but it's extremely flexible and feels like it just provides the right high-quality tools. For years my mainstay was NI Massive. But I'm starting to get my head around Pigments2. It's not quite as user friendly, but it's also damned good and much more modernized.

Puck Funk! :)

Equipment: Laptop running lots of nerdy software, some keyboards, noise makersâ¦yada yada yadaâ¦maybe a cat?

Glad you got it sorted out. I have the whole Korg Collection (except for Triton)and it's on my short list. Looking over your list of VSTs (very impressive), I noticed EZdrummer and EZkeys. I own and use EZdrummer ALL the time for laying down grooves to practice to, jam to, and even write to. Just wondering how you are using EZkeys. I went through the different EZkeys libraries and they seem to have a few gems in there that I could see using as "instruments" on their own. I could also see a benefit for helping with new arrangements and trying out ideas. I had Band-in-a-Box years ago on PC and as deep as it can get, I never connected with it. The EZ stuff could be different. That is why I'm curious how you are using it. Thanks in advance!

BTW: Is that window you posted a window from within DP? Or is that a Mac window? Wondering because a cool way to list/sort your VSTs. If you don't mind me asking.
