uhoh7
The newly revived cello de spalla, which aparently Bach owned and loved: [video:youtube] It's more natural to hold than a violin in all respects, no twisting and less arm raising. It's much easier for a violinist to learn than a modern cello, or viola de gamba. Was much in use from 1650 to 1740ish. The move to steel strings may have killed it. Like viola de gamba (and clavichord) there is deep repertoire little explored in performance today. NewImprov
A friend loaned me this, and I am working my way through it. Despite being a huge Fela fan (and I actually opened for him and his band on 3 dates in the Bay Area in 1990), there's about half of this I don't already have. 50-ish albums spread across 26 CD's, I'm about 6 discs deep into it, listening and reading the rather extensive liner notes. These are some of my favorite grooves on the planet! Some of the early 70's albums have some very tasty Rhodes playing, courtesy of Fela himself. uhoh7
I now own a violin, viola and cello, and spent this eve stringing all with very good strings (some of which cost more than the instruments). Then cooling down after that battle I found: [video:youtube] Quote RT-3/U-121/Leslie 21H and 760/Saltarelle Nuage/MOXF6/MIDIhub, SL-880/Nektar T4/Numa Cx2/Deepmind12/Virus TI 61/SL61 mk2 Stylophone R8/Behringer RD-8/Proteus 1/MP-7/Zynthian 4 MPC1k/JV1010/Unitor 8/Model D & 2600/WX-5&7/VL70m/DMP-18 Pedals Natal drums/congas etc & misc bowed/plucked/blown instruments. Docbop
Some extremly soulful playing and singing with Cory Henry and David Sanborn. Dig the strings being played with a Roli board so cool. Great track to illistrate music is all about feeling first and foremost and number of notes a distant second. [video:youtube]
RABid
Santana - Welcome! An amazing album delivered right before Santana was hit with a long dry spell of horrible albums. For them it was experimental and they were never able to recapture the magic. I would love to know what happened in the process that made this release so good when so many following releases from Santana were so bad. I can listen to the entire CD from beginning to end and enjoy it all. Anyway, this is a good keyboard album. Mother Africa was always my favorite track. GovernorSilver
I got the GeoSWAM IAPs for the GeoShred app. As part of my practice and study of wind instrument dynamics and vibrato, I've been practicing both parts of this song. There are no euphonium or trumpet instruments among the GeoSWAM instruments so I subbed flute and oboe. [video:youtube]

Theo Verelst
I've been correcting my re-mastering very big DSP software setup as a final step with an analog mixer setup, and this is some of the test CD tracks I used, recorded directly from the mixer out: listen2c.mp3 only ~ 15 sec, 44.1 320kbps, hopefully to be interpreted as fair use (CD example fragments are no shorter) T

MAJUSCULE
Was surprised to hear William Prince in the NPR Top 100 Songs of the Year, but then again, this really is a fantastic song, and he has been getting more and more attention. He put out two records this year, I bought a copy of this one for my mum's birthday. The whole thing is awesome. cp-the-nerd
I started following this musician "Falling Islands" when I was researching the Minilogue XD because he makes excellent ambient synth pieces and some cool synthwave style music.
