Jacob Collier: Danny Boy in 18 Increasingly Complex Emotions

"Jacob Collier Plays the Same Song In 18 Increasingly Complex Emotions | WIRED"

Fascinating to see his progression through the three tiers of emotions. This video is sponsored by Wired magazine so presumably is intended for a broad non-musician audience, but Collier's analysis of his own playing includes is a lot of music theory.

Thanks for posting that.

He"s definitely an interesting, unique and talented young guy.

His focus always seems to be the music rather than recognition. I think he is genuinely fascinated by it.

If being featured by Wired causes others to be so too, then that"s a good thing.

I know some find him a bit difficult to figure out, and some on this forum have previously been irritated by his apparent inability to sit still.

I suspect he may be slightly hyperactive, which may help to explain his enthusiasm!

I was reminded of this. It's also Danny Boy in a number of complex emotions. Obviously without the analysis. It's also imo one of the most moving piano recordings I've ever heard.
