Morrissey
"Jacob Collier Plays the Same Song In 18 Increasingly Complex Emotions | WIRED" Fascinating to see his progression through the three tiers of emotions. This video is sponsored by Wired magazine so presumably is intended for a broad non-musician audience, but Collier's analysis of his own playing includes is a lot of music theory. 232006
Thanks for posting that. He"s definitely an interesting, unique and talented young guy. His focus always seems to be the music rather than recognition. I think he is genuinely fascinated by it. If being featured by Wired causes others to be so too, then that"s a good thing. I know some find him a bit difficult to figure out, and some on this forum have previously been irritated by his apparent inability to sit still. I suspect he may be slightly hyperactive, which may help to explain his enthusiasm!
piano39
I learned a lot from watching this. niacin
I was reminded of this. It's also Danny Boy in a number of complex emotions. Obviously without the analysis. It's also imo one of the most moving piano recordings I've ever heard. jazzpiano88
Thanks for posting that of Bill! Here is one that I think rivals Bill but I love them both! (the emotion heard in both of these is off the charts) [video:youtube] Quote J a z z P i a n o 8 8 -- Yamaha C7D Montage8 | CP300 | CP4 | SK1-73 | OB6 | Seven K8.2 | 3300 | CPSv.
gg22
wow, thank you both niacin and JazzPiano88 for posting this. I slightly prefer Keith Jarret's version but they are both great.
Morrissey
wow, thank you both niacin and JazzPiano88 for posting this. +1. Remarkable performances! I was ignorant of this context for Collier's video.
