YouTube question?

I have a innocuous YouTube account that for personal reasons I had suspended. I didn't delete any of my videos and always planned on reinstating. At YouTube site it states I should go to "create account." There I get a split screen. One side is to create a new account and when I click it it works and I could begin process if I wanted to. The other side of screen shows my picture and my account name but when I click on that all I get is an animated circular arrow but even after many hours it never does anything else. I explored forums/help but nothing helpful. One forum gave me a phone number and states maybe I'll get a real person on phone but they will eventually guide me to online help.

Can anyone chime in?

Thanks

I think THEY suspend YOU.

Hence my question...

Obviously, not everyone. I have friends all the time that suspend their Facebook account and then reinstate it no problemo. I needed to take same action with YouTube; didn't know it was such a nightmare to reinstate.

Well Facebook and Google are two different companies. With YouTube if a channel is "suspended", it's permanently gone bye bye. In other words, you can NOT recover a suspended YouTube channel. If you can still access the channel and know for sure your old videos are still there, then it's not suspended. I've never done this myself, but maybe you changed the status of your videos from public to private? or maybe there's a way to temporarily deactivate a YouTube channel so it won't show in search results? That I don't know.

Yeah, my bad on terminology. I temporarily deactivated my account. It says I have 45 videos but I don't see anything like "reactivate account," only create account but that is not working.

thanks for thinking about this.
