Mark Schmieder
That's great to hear! I've been on a roller coaster ride myself with "almosts" that became disappointments, and for those of us who are a bit older, it can definitely feel like age is the issue. I may get an offer next week but am not counting on it. What I am noticing this week though, is a sudden and sharp uptick in positive feedback, new job postings of interest, and quick and thorough followup. So for those who are still looking, try to remain positive, even though that is hard after six months. One of our HR people who was downsized just got a new university job last week after six months of looking, and she confirmed that it is a super-competitive market like no other, but is finally picking up. Apparently there are some re-openings of schools and businesses starting this week, that are causing job postings to loosen up a bit -- so many were put on hold, withdrawn, reposted, on-again-off-again.
