Jazz+
An article from Keyboard Magazine 2020 https://www.musicradar.com/how-to/what-is-harmonic-planing-and-how-to-use-it-in-your-playing-compositions-and-productions It doesn't really get into how to use it took connect chords on standards, which is how I mostly use "planing". There's a mistake, it's not a picture of McCoy Tyner. BluMunk
McCoy Tyner does not look like I expect him to look in this article. http://www.natevenet.com/misc/jazzpianistmccoytyner.jpg

Tom Williams
I kept looking for references to "The University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople". The Ellington phrase "If it sounds good, it is good" was part of the opening to the Shickele Mix radio show. Funny thing is, after you filter out the BS, some of the ideas presented -- e.g., arpeggiated non-tertian chords moving in parallel as an improvised melody -- are actually pretty good improvisation hints. I've actually done the moving 1-4-7 chord thing, for example.
