stoken6
I've been invited to join a new project, and my assignment is Have a Cigar. Cool track and I know there's plenty of Floyd tributes among the KC community. (I found an Jim Alfredson rig rundown post here which was super-helpful). I'd like to know how you folks end the track? Most of the live performances I've seen duplicate the original recording (filter-swept white noise that mutes abruptly, followed by a low-level "playback" effect). I don't particularly want to go down this route as: 1. It will inevitably fall to the keys guy to trigger that effect 2. The keys guy will inevitably be insufficiently high in the mix to achieve the required impact. Any alternatives are very much of interest. Cheers, Mike. MathOfInsects
We ritard on the final walk-up and do the rock n roll swell on the I, per the live recordings. No filter-into-sample. Quote Now out! I think we borrowed that ending from the Gov"t Mule live cover. Quote Samuel B. Lupowitz Musician. Songwriter. Food Enthusiast. Bad Pun Aficionado. Rusty Mike
You should not squash a cigar to end it - it releases a lot of noxious stuff. When you're done with it, just let it sit in the ash tray. It will go out on its own. Quote .
