The Los Angeles Times recently ran this wonderful feature story of a rare cello that was stolen and resurfaced after some 40 years, plus a surprising human-angle story that evolved out of that.
Even though it's about a cello, there's lessons to be learned here on how one can find a lost/stolen instrument that has tremendous monetary and/or sentimental value.

wanted to read but it is behind a paywall


A reason why I collect old keyboards is that I feel partly responsible for doing it, responsible for preserving history and being a custodian for these things
Plus, old gear has a story. I like that.
