TommyRude
So some lyrics came into my head, thinking to back this up with a traditional country groove, around 60-65 bpm, chorus in C, walking bass line with some ghost notes, guitars, pedal steel, of course some piano groove. The lyrics are quite profound and uplifting [font:Georgia]That dog ain't good for much He got fleas and ticks and such That dog ain't good for much, but he's good enough for me That truck ain't good for much It's got rust and dents and such That truck ain't good for much, but it's good enough for me That girl ain't good for much She can't cook or clean and such That girl ain't good for much, but she's good enough for me This song ain't good for much It don't rock 'n roll and such This song ain't good for much, but it's good enough for me [/font] Postscript: I showed these lyrics to my wife. She told me not to quit my day job to write country songs, or any other songs for that matter Quote Some music I've recorded and played over the years with a few different bands Tommy Rude Soundcloud
KuruPrionz
Isn't it "gots"? It's a fine song, not a hit maybe but then again... Fresno boy here though, I love country. Made a few bucks twangin' a Tele to Willie, Buck and Merle. Always wanted to do a Ray Stevens tribute band but so not PC now!!!! SamuelBLupowitz
A few years back, I had a short-lived collaboration with a male pop songwriter (and aspiring artist in the vein of Josh Groban and other adult-contemporary male vocalists). Nice guy, but weren't a great fit, since even at my most chill and refined I still kind of sound like Leon Russell... That said, our greatest success was our idea for a country song, "Broke My Heart (With a Frying Pan)." I'm convinced that if we had ever written more than a chorus melody and the hook, we would have had a smash on our hands. If anyone else wants to take up the cause, be my guest. Just give me and Tyler Done a cut of the royalties. Quote Samuel B. Lupowitz Musician. Songwriter. Food Enthusiast. Bad Pun Aficionado. Tom Williams
Good verse on the guitar. I'm in complete sympathy. It will guarantee you warm feelings from the three keyboardists in the audience, while alienating the 97 folks with guitars in their living rooms. But you gotta be positive-sounding about the 4th, even if it's the equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard for you. Go back and try again. Extra points if you say something affirming about fiddles. And maybe guns. Quote -Tom Williams {First Name} {at} AirNetworking {dot} com PC4-7, PX-5S, AX-Edge, PC361

GRollins
For the final verse, the dog needs to take the truck and run off, taking the girl with him.
