Mike Martin
My family and I visited the Outer Banks in North Carolina last week. We had gone out for some bird photos and had an unplanned stop at the Bodie Lighthouse. The only lens I had on my camera was a 150-600mm lens. While I attempted to get further away to take shots of it we were swarmed by mosquitoes unlike anything I've ever seen before. So a quickly shot a (vertical) panorama of the lighthouse. Starting at the bottom left with the camera vertical, I took six pictures from left to right. Moved up and did it again and again. The result was about 24 images were used and assembled in Photoshop. The result is a 266 Megapixel image. KenElevenShadows
It really does look great, and panoramas are a great way of adding considerably more detail.
