desertbluesman
Excellent, and certainly a song for the times. You may go down in history as an oracle who can foresee the future, like one of those great predictors of old. The new Nostradamus You did a real nice job on the lyrics, which are so right on for these days. skipclone 1
Thanks guys. It`s funny-I originally intended it to be a humorous song about germophobes and hypochondriacs. Over time, reality has caught up and made it sound more like-well, reality. Dannyalcatraz
Looks like Nostradamus bought a six-string! That"s a song that works as is but could also be scaled up into a full-on radio rocker. skipclone 1
Haha! ya, I had other parts in mind. I think this song could feature something unique for the drums. It's not a fat beat kind of song, more tablas-like. I'm not sure if my drummer ex-bandmate has heard it yet, it would be right up his alley. Dannyalcatraz
I was thinking it could work with a slightly psychedelic vibe. Nothing over the top, juuust a hint of something off kilter. Tablas would fit with that. Quote Sturgeon's 2nd Law, a.k.a. skipclone 1
Ya there are some good possibilities. I`m hoping to resume work on another song first, which unfortunately doesn`t lend itself to solo acoustic. But the timing is good to do a full version of this. KuruPrionz
Ya there are some good possibilities. I`m hoping to resume work on another song first, which unfortunately doesn`t lend itself to solo acoustic. But the timing is good to do a full version of this. i usually let songs tell me what to do at first. Then I try playing them in ways that I know they should not be played. Might get a good bridge out of it anyway. Quote It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.
skipclone 1
Sure-well there are lots of approaches to songwriting. I have one where, I knew the music was right. But it started with the lyrics. Then I decided, no, those weren't the right lyrics. I wrote a totally different set of lyrics, and changed the title. Now that's better. No, actually that's not better. I wrote another totally different set of lyrics and changed the title again. The song I have now is the third version. skipclone 1
No worries-actually that was the ONLY way to share it. I haven't recorded it yet and I wanted to get it out there while it's timely. Caevan O’Shite
Niiiiiice... and, yeah, seemingly a bit prescient, and by more than two score years to boot, my friend. Great chord-fingerings, voice-leading to outline the somewhat quirky chordal melody and mood; well done. Would you mind if I share that on Facebook and the like? skipclone 1
Hi Caev- Thanks so much for the kind review-as I mentioned, not my best playing but the parts are there. You are quite welcome to share. I had a followup song in mind that I play a lot more regularly but, among other obstacles I`m dealing with moving later this month. Maybe after I get settled I`ll post something.
