Problems recording Korg D1 with M-Audio Air 162/4 interface

So this is my first time trying to record a keyboard with an M-Audio Air 162/4 audio interface. I tried two methods to record the audio from the keyboard in Ableton Live, and in both cases the mixing levels are showing a signal is being received, but I can't hear any audio on playback, just distorted sounds or nothing at all. I'm using an old 2009 iMac with 12GB 1067 MHz DDR3.

 

 

1) I tried connecting the line out on the keyboard with a TRS cable to the line 1 in the M-Audio. In Ableton I set the input and output as the M-Audio Air. In my iMAC audio settings I also set the input and output as the M-Audio Air.

2) I then tried connecting a TS cable from the line out of the keyboard to the line 2 guitar in the M-Audio and this is what happened:

 

 

I just don't understand what's wrong. From what I read the M-Audio Air should work with a keyboard. Does anyone know what might be wrong?
