OT: Find a Silver Lining [Music from 1919]

Recommended Posts

This idiom was immortalized back in 1919.

"Look for the Silver Lining" is a popular song with music by Jerome Kern and lyrics by B.G. DeSylva. It was written in

1919 for the unsuccessful musical Zip, Goes a Million. In 1920 it was published.

The great Chet Baker also performed it. [ Chet Baker Sings (1956)].

"Look for the silver lining" is a suggestion that has been said so often it may appear trite to some.

But it actually contains a very deep wisdom, that can help us all to get through difficulties.

"Every cloud has a silver lining" means that every difficulty or setback that causes harm, also contains a potential

for a beneficent outcome. By searching for any positive effects of any difficulty or confusing circumstance,

we can begin to feel more inner peace in response to the situation, thus regaining our ability to solve it if we can, or accept it if we can't.

Can you find a Silver Lining today ?

Why fit in, when you were born to stand out ?

That was great, thanks for that ! That history was part of the premise on what I did.

I composed/recorded my own version, on April 22, of the idiom on my SoundCloud:

It got 2800 listens within a few days. Some folks are reposting it

to their SC which bumps up listens.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/starving-rats-reportedly-turning-cannibals-114544970.html

Starving rats are reportedly turning into cannibals and attacking one other as their restaurant food supply disappears

Pest control officials say that some rats are resorting to cannibalism and infanticide to survive.

This assumes you prefer to see less rats.
