Millard
Hi everyone. I've built 4 electronic footswitches from Craig Anderton's, 'Electronic Projects for Musicians' (Project 15). I'm using them to remotely control 4 stompboxes that I have in my rack. One works fine, but the LED's on the other 3 are always on, they just get brighter when the effect is engaged. For the life of me I can't figure out what's wrong. I know the circuit is pretty outdated, but is there anyone who is familiar with it and can figure out what's going on? Greg Mein
I think you came to the right place, I haven't built one but I'm looking at page 127 now. Quote https://www.facebook.com/Meinfield-346702719450783/ Songs on SoundCloud
Anderton
There a ton of variables...did you measure the voltage on the bipolar power supply to make sure they are equal and opposite? What kind of LEDs are you using - current flows them even with the switch isn't connected but it should be enough to light them. I'm pretty sure they need to be red LEDs. The CMOS switches are very sensitive to static electricity, so hopefully you followed the precautions regarding how to handle them. The main question, though, is do the ones where the LED doesn't seem to be working as it should control the effects the way they're suppose to?
