The Stage has a pretty good Acoustic piano and a mediocre Rhodes sound. I knew that! The Wave 2 bass is cool but she"s not exactly demonstrating the expressive range of the instrument. Sometimes artists go too far in the other direction, running through presets and twiddling knobs in uninspiring ways. I haven"t seen a video of the Wave 2 where someone strikes a good balance. Name players like Domi and most the ones in Nord (and others videos) aren't really their to demo the gear, they are just there so show endorses . These companies have field rep's that do the legit gear demo like Luke from Korg. Those company rep's work long and hard on creating demos that show off the marketing bullet points of an instrument and whizzing by perceived weaknesses. I like that Nord booth mainly have excellent musicians just come and play in their booths at trade shows, make me remember a company name than some slick company demo. He's basically doing D&B style-drumming that was pioneered by JoJo Mayer (more or less playing a fast, difficult programmed drum beat with actual sticks). Very appropriate for this type of music IMO. hardware Posted February 7, 2020 Share Posted February 7, 2020 I had a helluva time transcribing Charley Parker BeeBop solos and playing them back. Took weeks. Not sure of time DOMi spends doing hers but I watched an IG video of her doing this with both hands on a split zone controller and laptop. I need my ass kicked every year as it motivates me.
