lsj
just wondering. who thought the half time show was lip-synced.
MikeT156
I do believe they ALL are. The NFL's contract requires "artists" hired for the half time show to go into a recording studio and record their performance. I don't remember who it was that refused to play the show on the night of the game for one reason or another. But the NFL will not be caught with their pants down again. Mike T. o0Ampy0o
I hate the half time shows. They have become revolting. I turned off the sound and avoided looking at the screen when J Lo came on. I ended up missing the 3rd quarter activity that brought the 10-10 tie to 20-10 and IT WAS WORTH IT. Reading the lip-sync question I had to look up Paul McCartney's half time performance. I did not see it and doubted Paul would lip sync. He can bop his head over the top when singing for real and if he was lip syncing (who ever isn't?) he never missed a word. So good for Paul holding the illusion up.
Synthoid
I turned off the sound and avoided looking at the screen when J Lo came on. Not a fan either... didn't watch the halftime show. Apparently the performance received complaints the following day. Quote When an eel hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's a Moray.
Ken Beaumont
I appreciated the production and choreography. As such that was excellent. Musically it was 'Meh' , the only song I even remember from the hodge podge was the small bit of "Kashmir" they put in there. Bill H.
...and avoided looking at the screen when J Lo came on. i didn't *<);~ If you can accept the halftime show as more spectacle than music, this was definitely a good one - and with the Super Bowl in Miami (kind of the unofficial Latin capitol of the US) appropriate. Blink-and-you-missed him Reggaeton superstar J Balvin has over 2.8 billion Youtube views of Mi Gente - the track with the weird Em synth figure that was in the middle of the show somewhere. And that's not counting the Beyonce remix - in the hundreds of millions. So there's a huge audience for this. As a DJ I've played the crap out of both - and have Spangilsh versions on hand as well. And that's nothing compared to how much I've played Shakira over the years. As I said in the other thread, from a musical artist standpoint she should have had top billing. But J Lo's got this film career thing going...
o0Ampy0o
....from a musical artist standpoint she (Shakira) should have had top billing. But J Lo's got this film career thing going... J Lo's film career is not what she has going. It is the "celebrity" she has going that gets her the attention. Before she became "J Lo" I remember an early film she appeared in with George Clooney (Out of Sight). I was impressed with her as a rising actress. I even liked her first album. It wasn't the actress wannabe singer thing. She had something. But when she started being the queen of narcissism it overshadowed the substance she had revealed in her "innocent" period. Both girls are definitely attractive but the celebrity aspect can make anything obnoxious.
