a lot of us use mobile devices like iphones and ipads, cause some developers create great Apps for making music. But the Apps are not that cheap anymore, like in times when the App Store started.
Some Apps are just lying dying on my iphone and ipad after i bought them. It turns out they are not the way i would like them to use and they are not the way they were described.
Yesterday this happen again because a lot of you synthesizer freaks might have realized that a lot of people are writing and talking about the Bram Bos Mononoke. They describe it as a nice drone and ambient synthesizer with nice possibility's.
Well, it gets my attention and yesterday i decide to buy it. I pay the 9,99 Euros and it was a disappointing experience with the first sound i play. When i use some of the controllers i don’t have the feeling there is happening much. I don't like the sound. It sounds cheap and awfull in my ears. Maybe you like it. I don't.
This time i thought to myself that i bought again a software i will not use anymore now. 9.99 Euros throwing out of the Window.
And that makes my mind going to ask Questions. In the EU there are so many regulations. Do they not protect also the customer? Is it not possible to get a refund if you buy something you don‘t like?
And i‘m happy to announce it is possible:
I bought in the german app store and there you have the right to give back without reason for 2 Weeks. You might have to wait for your refund about one week. And there are other options you could tell apple, like the app is not working or not functional on your system. After two weeks you have to “discuss” this with the creator of the App. I doubt you will get your money back after two weeks.
Here is the link you must use:
1: Log in your Account
2: Choose your App
3: Choose a Option
And i realize another app i bought in the last two weeks i did also not use. This two Apps are worth ca. 25 Euros. Money i don't want to throw into a trashcan.
For one app i get my refund immediately, for the other i have to wait. Like they say: one week they have time to refund.
Now there is the big Question why Apple does not make this clear, when you buy a app? Like: “buy without risk in the app store! If you don't like it, we refund you”.
Well i think we all know why they don't do it. I can imagine they have a lot of user Data about the apps we use, if you don't shut down „send user statistics to apple“. They also see a lot of Apps which are not used very often. And to refund them might be expensive for apple.
Also different Market Regulations in different Countries might be a reason. If you watch more closely into the App-Store you realize that there are many different Laws for the App Stores. So what are the Experiences for Musicians in the US, France, Portugal, Spain, Japan, India, Northpole or where ever you live? Tell us, please!
Apple I wanna tell you: I might buy now also more expensive Apps like the one from Korg, cause I can test them now without risk for two weeks and decide, if they are worth the money or not.
What are your experiences? Tell Us ! Peace
