Adan Posted January 19, 2020 Share Posted January 19, 2020 I was immersed in GSH back in the day. I feel the desire to immerse every time I'm reminded of him, like by this thread for instance. I believe that must be Brian Jackson noodling on the Moog in that video. Nothing he did was musically earth-shattering. His combination of refined and jazzy musical sensibility, sheer intellect, and social consciousness made him an artist for the ages. He had the sort of unlimited but ego-less charisma that you find in the rare great leaders of society. While it's a great compliment to call him one of the fathers of rap, it's also a little like saying Bach was an accomplished harpsichordist. Sure, but . . .
