zZounds was taking orders for Korg ARP 2600 when I checked with them Friday afternoon, so I put in an order with them. This is the biggest and costliest synth I've ever purchased, but after some research and contemplation, I'm convinced I will indeed use it quite a lot, unlike the Moog Voyager that I once owned but never really used.

I really enjoyed playing the Korg Arp 2600, but now I am hearing Behringer will be doing a Eurorack version of it, so in this case I may be interested. The ASM Hydrasynth- I stopped by to check out the polyAT keyboard (which was nice for a synth keybed), but was actually surprised at how good and versatile it sounded. At $799 for the desktop, it may be hard to resist. Finally, I have always liked the Roland Jupiter8 and MKS-70/JX-10, but have always been somewhat wary of their VA approach. However:

Because I rarely charge this much to my credit card, my first attempt at buying the KARP 2600 was flagged by the issuer and declined. I called zZounds and asked to cancel and do another order on their installment plan.

I agree, but in this case I would think of it more as a desktop module with some minikeys attached.

Zzounds canceled my KARP 2600 order on me, stating it was "unavailable". Well, why'd you guys take my order then?

Going to spend more time with my MS-20 Mini and Lyra-8 instead.

I got on the waitlist at Sweetwater for a KARP 2600.

Each piece of gear that I have has its speciality, something it can do that complements the others. Also, I was inspired by this Alessandro Cortini, even though there's no ARP 2600 in sight. He has a room full of gear, but he focuses on one at a time, looking for inspiration from that particular instrument via a dialogue. I relate to that in how I interact with my Lyra-8, MS-20, etc. - a one on one conversation with each.

Korg WaveState grabbed my attention - now, if I only had $800 I could drop on a new toy. I don't even want to ask how much the new 6-Operator FM Synth is, or I may have to start casing banks with Dr. Walker.

The Elephant was missing at Namm. I guess the Osmose demo was so hammered by artist demos, it was no longer fit to be seen in public. Analog remakes are spawning like mice, which is good, but even the new ones are old news. Osmose is an earthquake, and the synth inside might be really something too.

TY for great Alessandro Cortini link.

I'm not sure who kills more chinese workers Apple or Behringer. But we would never buy anything from these people.

I think I read Uli is responsible for OS Catalina.
